wrong way

has the world tipped
the wrong way around?

why is it when i
open my eyes
i face pitch darkness
but when i close
my eyes to dream
everything seems to
light up my life?

when i step along
the paths of dreams
everything goes so smoothly
but when i launch onto
the rocky shores of life
i slip and fall

when i chose to imagine
time crawls past me
i always wake to find
the world the opposite
has the world tipped
the wrong way around?
