Chocolate chip cookies

We live in a world of ironies
sometimes, people just refuse kindness
I knew she liked to eat
chocolate chip cookies
but when i offered it to her
she declined and said
it's too sweet.

As I grew older, I learnt it as well
My daughter would ask me
"mummy, you sure you don't want it?"
And I would reply
"No honey, you eat;
it's too sweet for me."
